CANCELLATIONS DUE TO SEVERE WEATHER

During severe weather, Borough Hall may close or garbage and/or recycling pickup may be canceled. If there is a cancellation, it will be posted on the website homepage and announced on the following radio stations:

New Jersey 101.5 FM:           www.nj1015.com
WABD 1310 AM / 94.3 FM:    www.943thepoint.com

Please do not call the Police Department to find out about cancellations. We need to keep the police lines open for emergencies.


MAILBOX REMINDER

Check your mail box before the winter season. Check to make sure that it is not hanging over into the street and check the base to make sure that it is structurally sound. Only those mailboxes struck by a Borough plow or vehicle will be replaced by the Borough. Mailboxes that collapse or break due to rotten or defective bases will not be replaced. Those mail boxes that are replaced by the Borough will be replaced with a standard type mail box.


RECYCLABLES NEWS 

If your curbside garbage day is Monday, your recycling day is the first and third Thursday of every month.  If your curbside garbage day is Tuesday, your recycling day is the second and fourth Thursday of every month.

THE RIGHT PLACE AT THE RIGHT TIME........

Collections start at 7:00 AM for garbage and recycling. Please have items placed at the  curb before this time. Recyclables placed at the curb become Borough property and ONLY the Borough may collect them. Recyclables will not be collected if placed in plastic bags. 


RECYCLING / BULKY WASTE DROP-OFF CENTER
(Located behind Borough Hall)

Due to Borough insurance requirements, recyclables, household garbage and bulky trash will be accepted at the Borough Drop-Off Center only when Public Works personnel are in attendance.
The hours are as follows:
Monday through Friday - 8 AM to 3 PM
Saturday - 8 AM to 12 PM
AREA IS CLOSED SUNDAYS, HOLIDAYS & HOLIDAY WEEKENDS
DUMPING IS PROHIBITED WHEN DROP-OFF CENTER IS CLOSED & UNATTENDED

  • The Borough Drop-Off is available to residents only.
  • Proof of residency is required.
  • No trucks over 3/4 ton will be allowed to dump.
  • No trucks with commercial license plates will be allowed to dump.
    THE FOLLOWING ITEMS ARE NOT ACCEPTED AT THE DROP-OFF CENTER:
    NO - Paint or Paint Cans
    NO - Hazardous Material
    NO - Tree Stump or Tree Trunks
    NO - Masonry, Cement, Asphalt, Stone or Brick
    NO - Dirt or Sand
    NO - Grass Clippings or Sod
    NO - Wood Fence or Creosoted Lumber
    NO - Construction Debris
    NO - Roofing Materials
    NO - Windows or Doors
    NO - Ceramic Tile
    NO - Pallets
    NO - Propane Cylinders, empty or full
    NO - Fire Extinguishers, empty or full
