NJ Special Needs Registry
The Special Needs Registry is designed to help emergency responders locate and safely evacuate people who could find it difficult to help themselves in the event of a major disaster, such as a hurricane. Emergency responders need to know where you are and what help you might need to assist in helping to evacuate you quickly and safely.
The NJ Special Needs Registry has been established to collect information emergency responders will need to help locate and evacuate people with Special Needs during an emergency, when a family or caregiver are unable to help them. This information is CONFIDENTIAL.
Who Should Register?
You, or someone on your behalf, should register if you may find it difficult to get to safety with family or friends or to a public shelter during an emergency evacuation, because of a physical or cognitive liimitation, language barrier, or lack of transportation.
How Can I Register?

- Telephone toll free 2-1-1 or 1-800-435-7555 for registration help, translation, and TTY/TDD services.
