Tinton Falls Memorial Day Service

Tinton Falls residents came out to honor our fallen servicemen on Memorial Day. The Colors were presented by our uniformed services. Master of Ceremonies, Mr. Albert Neis, made introductory remarks and Scouts from Boy Scout Troop 124 performed the Changing of the Colors. The Monmouth Regional High School Band Played the Star Spangled Banner and the crowd stood for the Pledge of Allegiance. The Reverend David deFrost, of the Reformed Church of Tinton Falls offered an invocation and Mayor Michael Skudera offered welcoming remarks and spoke of the debt we owe to our Armed Forces. The Mayor introduced the keynote speaker, Lieutenant Commander John J. Dunne, Executive Officer of Naval Weapons Station Earle. There was a Presentation of Wreaths by Tinton Falls organizations followed by a Reading of the Names of Deceased Veterans who were also honored by a Presentation of Flags and Daisies by the Cub Scouts and the Girl Scouts. Honor flags were presented for Deceased Firefighters, EMS Personnel and Police Officers. The band played Taps and Chaplain Brendan Tobin of Tinton Falls Fire Company No. 1 offered the Benediction. Lieutenant Commander Dunne ordered the Retiring of the Colors and everyone was invited to the Tinton Falls Fire House for refreshments by the Ladies Auxiliary to the Fire Company.
