Master Plan Overview
The Borough has prepared a new Master Plan. A Municipal Master Plan outlines the zones within the municipality and the activities planned for those zones. This plan affects the value of the residents' property and their quality of life.
During preparation of the Master Plan, the Planning Board holds public meetings to allow the residents to provide input to the plan.
There was a preliminary meeting, on May 31st, 2006, conducted by the Professional Planners,
Heyer Gruel & Associates, to acquaint the public with the process.
The Borough was then divided into quadrants, and one meeting was held in each neighborhood, on Nov 29, Nov 30, Dec 4 & Dec 6, 2006 to solicit input and ideas from the residents.
The Professional Planners provided a synopsis of the results of the neighborhood meetings to the Planning Board at the regular Planning Board meeting on December 13th. The public was invited to attend this meeting and to listen to the Planners' recommendations.
Having received all this input, the Planning Board prepared a draft plan which was the subject of more public hearings.
A new Master Plan was finally adopted by the Planning Board on April 25, 2007. This Plan was presented to the Borough Council at the Council meeting on May 15, 2007.
