Councilman Duane Morrill Resigns...
At the Borough Council meeting on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 Councilman Duane Morrill resigned as Councilman and read the following statement:
“Friends and Neighbors,
I am very sorry to announce I will no longer be able to reside as a member of this Council. With the added responsibilities of my new position at the N.Y.P.D., I will no longer be afforded the time needed to fulfill the duties of a Councilman. I have truly enjoyed the time I have spent serving this Council and You our Residents. I am especially proud of having had the honor of working with the Open Space Committee, the Community Activities Committee, the Recreation Department and all the Volunteers. You are what make Tinton Falls such a great place to raise a family in. Your dedication is unmatched. I would also like to extend a special thanks to the Employees here at Borough Hall, at our Police Department and down the street at the Department of Public Works. At the N.Y.P.D. we have a motto Courtesy, Professionalism and Respect. When I would walk these halls or call one of our Employees, I would always be greeted by a pleasant demeanor and a professional attitude. So when I see those words around work I will always remember you our Borough Employees. Finally to you Mayor and fellow Councilpersons, thank you. It has been a pleasure serving with all of you and I can take pride in knowing I will be leaving the town in the competent and dedicated hands of you all. Thank you for your understanding in this matter. Sincerely, Duane Morrill”
If any Tinton Falls resident would like to be considered for the vacant council seat, please contact the Borough Clerk’s office or any council member.
