TINTON FALLS, NJ — In response to recent media reporting, the Borough of Tinton Falls is issuing the following statement to provide the public with accurate information while respecting the pending judicial process and the privacy of those involved.

The Borough confirms that Councilmember Kashyap Parikh was arrested by the Tinton Falls Police Department on August 23, 2026, and charged with simple assault in connection with an alleged domestic violence incident. He was released on a complaint summons pending further court proceedings.

The alleged incident was personal in nature, occurred at a private residence, and was unrelated to Borough business, property, employees, or municipal resources.

The Mayor and Borough Council recognize that domestic violence is a serious issue affecting individuals and families in every community. The Borough supports efforts to protect those experiencing domestic violence and to ensure that assistance is available to anyone who needs it. At the same time, this matter must be permitted to proceed through the judicial system without prejudging its outcome.

The Tinton Falls Police Department handled the investigation and arrest and made all notifications required under applicable law and law enforcement procedures.

Because this is a pending court matter, Borough officials will not comment on the underlying allegations, evidence, or any information that could identify or affect the privacy of another person. The charge is an accusation, and Councilmember Parikh is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

The operations of the Borough and the delivery of municipal services remain unaffected.
