Receipts: 

Payments requiring a receipt must be accompanied by the entire tax bill with a self-addressed stamped envelope. Otherwise, detach the appropriate stub and mail with your check. The cancelled check will be your receipt.

Payments:

Taxes are due and payable quarterly on the 1st day of February, May, August & November.  The Borough allows a 10 day grace period.  Payments must be received in the office by the 10th of the month that they are due to avoid interest.  The months in which the 10th falls on a day that the Borough of Tinton Falls is closed (weekend or a holiday), the grace period will be extended to the next business day.   Payments received in our office after this date will accrue interest from the statutory due date. 

Interest:  

Any taxes remaining unpaid after the grace period is subject to interest and penalty.  Delinquent taxes are subject to interest at 8% per annum up to $1,500.00 and 18% per annum over $1,500.00.  Non-payment of taxes after December 31st may incur an additional 6% penalty.

Preliminary and Final Taxes: 

The first half taxes (Preliminary) of any year are generally based on 1/2 of the previous year's taxes.  When the bill for the second half taxes (final) is rendered, the tax rate has been established and the total years tax fixed.  The estimated (Preliminary) amount is deducted from the total and the remainder becomes the second half taxes.

Change of Mailing Address:

Requests for a change in mailing address will be only accepted in written form.
